Understanding the rules and mechanisms that govern the behaviour of
cells from fertilisation to the mature organism constitutes an intriguing
and important challenge. Intriguing, because the events of
development are extraordinary in their beauty and complexity.
Important, because advances in this area will generate a new wave of
medical and commercial applications.
The Centre for the Molecular Genetics of Development
is a Special Research Centre of the Australian
Research Council with research groups located
at the
University of Adelaide
and the
Australian National University.
