Frontiers of Biology - RSBS ANU
Are you considering a PhD, but not really sure whats involved?
Are you curious about research, but not sure where to begin?
Come and join in the excitement of research at the Frontiers of Biology,
where we will answer these questions and many more!
The program will address a range of research highlights including:
Monitoring and modelling the effects of climate change on world biota;
Making crops more productive to feed the increasing world population;
Screening for glaucoma, a major cause of visual damage;
Finding out how the retina forms and how to protect its from damage;
Discovering genetic elements that dictate development in humans, insects
and corals; or
Using evolution to discover how animal sex and sex chromosomes work.
Domestic students who are in the final two years of an undergraduate
program, or doing Honours, in a relevant discipline, are invited to participate
in this 3 day research experience which will include interactive hands-on
workshop sessions showcasing important research work in the Biological and
Life Sciences at RSBS from July 3 to July
5 2007.
Twenty scholarships covering travel, food and accommodation are available
for this event. Applications close 23 May 2007.
