The Centre for the Molecular Genetics of Development is a Special Research Centre of the Australian Research Council with research groups located at the University of Adelaide and the Australian National University.

CMGD Posters

All publications and posters produced by any member of a CMGD laboratory (irrespective of whether the work was funded directly by ARC Centre funds) or any work by an affiliate laboratory that has been carried out in collaboration with a CMGD researcher must acknowledge the ARC and CMGD by including "ARC Special Research Centre for the Molecular Genetics of Development" following the publication / poster title and name/s of author/s.

Please use the CMGD poster templates or follow the details below when preparing your poster:

1. Include the host institution's logo (ANU, UoA) on the top left hand side of the poster next to the poster title.

2. The CMGD logo is to be displayed in the top right hand corner of the poster next to the poster title.

3. The poster title should be centered, recommended font: Arial Narrow, font size: 72pt.

4. The list of authors should be centered, recommended font: Arial Narrow, font size: 48pt bold.

5. The organisations associated with the authors should be centered, recommended font: Arial Narrow, font size: 36 pt, and must include "ARC Special Research Centre for the Molceular Genetics of Development"

6. Recommended poster size: ADELAIDE - 91.4 cm (w) x 100 cm (h), CANBERRA - 84 cm (w) x 119 cm (h)

PowerPoint Presentations

All presentations produced by any member of a CMGD laboratory (irrespective of whether the work was funded directly by ARC Centre funds) or any work by an affiliate laboratory that has been carried out in collaboration with a CMGD researcher must acknowledge the ARC and CMGD by including "ARC Special Research Centre for the Molecular Genetics of Development".

Logos of the CMGD and the host institution must be included on all presentations and the ARC must be acknowledged: "The CMGD is a special Resarch Centre of the Australian Research Council". Please refer to the templates below:

Publications

Please note that all publications produced by any member of a CMGD laboratory (irrespective of whether the work was funded directly by ARC Centre funds) or any work by an affiliate laboratory that has been carried out in collaboration with a CMGD researcher must acknowledge the ARC and CMGD by including "ARC Special Research Centre for the Molecular Genetics of Development".

All manuscripts for publication prepared by any member of a CMGD laboratory or by an affiliate laboratory with whom you are collaborating must be forwarded to the Director, CMGD, prior to submission to a journal, with the intended journal indicated. The CMGD Director or nominee will then:

1. Ensure that the correct acknowledgements are used in the manuscript,
2. Identify the potential for press release,
3. Identify the potential for the submission to a high profile journal.

Applications for CMGD Travel Support

The Centre for the Molecular Genetics of Development (CMGD) has set aside funds to support research travel by postdoctoral fellows and PhD students who are members of the Centre to attend scientific meetings or visit other laboratories. In 2007, there will be four rounds of funding (please refer to the schedule below). The value of the scheme is:


- Maximum of $1,500 p.a. per postdoctoral fellow (accumulative to $3,000) *
- Maximum of $500 p.a. per PhD student over a period of three years (accumulative to $1,500) *
* Subject to available funding.

Eligibility
- Applicants must be members of a CMGD laboratory or affiliate laboratory.
- Travel must be relevant to the research undertaken by the applicant.
- In general, applicants are expected to present at conferences / workshops (i.e. oral presentations, posters), but applications for other types of work-related travel will be considered.

Conditions of Funding
- The CMGD logo is to be displayed on Posters and PowerPoint slides presented by the applicant .
- Travel must comply with the travel policy of the relevant university (Travel University of Adelaide /
Travel Australian National University).
- On return to their laboratories, applicants are expected to give a talk / presentation about their conference/ workshop attendance or laboratory visit to the members of their group/ department. The CMGD logo is to be displayed on all PowerPoint slides, posters and other presentations.

Application Process
Application Deadlines for 2008:
· Deadline 31.01.08 for travel in Mar, Apr and May 2008
· Deadline 30.04.08 for travel in June, July and Aug 2008
· Deadline 31.07.08 for travel in Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec 2008

Applications will be evaluated based on:
· Perceived need for attending the conference (50%)
· Applicant's track record (25%)
· Referee's comments (25%)

Applicants will be advised of the outcome of the application process within four weeks following the due date.
